Welcome to Day 2 of the 30 Day Cosplay Challenge~!
For Day 2, the question is: "How Many Cosplays Have You Done?"
Which... is going to require a lot of time traveling and thinking back as I cover all the costumes I've made or worn since 2011 (and maybe throwing in the 3 I did in 2010 to my first convention). So... here we go!!
(3) In 2010, I went to Matsuricon in Columbus, Ohio. It was my first convention and I wore 3 cosplays that I don't necessarily have pictures for; Nana Osaki from NANA, Eiri Yuki from Gravitation, and Ruki from the jrock band, the GazettE, in his Taion outfit.
This was the start of my adventure in cosplay and conventions but the addiction didn't really set in until 2011.

Miku Hatsune @ Ikasucon 2011 |
(3 + 1 = 4) As seen in my previous 30 Day Cosplay Challenge post, the cosplay I consider my first cosplay was Miku Hatsune. Miku was the only costume I did in 2011 since Ikasucon was the only convention I attended.

Stocking @ Ikasucon 2012 |
|
Lily the Vocaloid @ Tekkoshocon 2012 |
(4 + 3 = 7) In 2012, I went to two conventions: Tekkoshocon and Ikasucon again. For Tekkoshocon, I made my first attempt at Sailor Moon and the first attempt at Lily the Vocaloid (my now favourite female Vocaloid). For Ikasucon that year, I participated in a group cosplay yet again as Stocking from Panty and Stocking.
|
Flandre Scarlet @ Ohayocon 2013 |
|
Sakuyamon; Summer 2013 shoot |
(7 + 5 = 12) In 2013, I went to four conventions: Ohayocon, Wittcon, Ikasucon, and Matsuricon. For Ohayocon, I made Flandre Scarlet from Touhou 6; Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil. Wittcon was a spur of the moment decision and I ended up just bringing Sailor Moon. For Ikasucon, I competed in a duo cosplay as Sakuyamon from Digimon Tamers. And for Matsuricon, I quickly remade a Halloween costume from the past which was Ruki from the jrock band, the GazettE, yet again but in his Cockroach outfit. I also join in a quick closet cosplay with my little sister as Marceline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time (with my sis as Princess Bubblegum). And, for Halloween that year, I ended up making my first gijinka adventure since Halloween 2009/2010 with Spyro the Dragon!

Elsa @ Wittcon 2014 |
|
Lucy @ Colossalcon 2014 |
(12 + 4 = 16) In 2014, I went to four more conventions- Wittcon, Animarathon, Colossalcon, and Ikasucon. Wittcon brought the first urge-cosplay for me which was Elsa from Frozen. For Animarathon, I ended up just bringing Sakuyamon. Colossalcon I remade Lily the Vocaloid and ended up scraping the old Sailor Moon to make the Prototype version- I also threw together Lucy from Elfen Lied and brought Flandre with me.For Ikasucon, I took the plunge and did Black Rock Shooter!

Team RWBY @ Midoricon 2015 |
|
Kaitou Jeanne @ Shumatsucon 2015 |
(16 + 7 = 23) Now, 2015... getting closer- I went to Ohayocon, Shumatsucon, Wittcon, Animarathon, Ikasucon, Matsuricon, and Midoricon. For Ohayocon, I made Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. Shumatsucon was a new convention and I wanted to bring Jeanne with me- it was also where I got my first professional photoshoot done by LevelUp Photography- and I also remade Lily yet again and did my first really decent closet cosplay in a long time- Nezumi from No.6. Wittcon was a chance for me to get creative and throw together a Foxy from Five Nights At Freddy's cosplay (which ended up getting an upgrade for Halloween). For Animarathon, I brought Jeanne with me and competed in my first skit! Ikasucon was where I debuted Queen Nehelenia from Sailor Moon (and remade Sailor Moon once more) and I wore her again at Matsuricon. Midoricon was the big con of the year with my 13 member RWBY group in which I was Weiss Schnee. This was also another time I got my little sister to cosplay with me as she joined us as Blake Belladonna- which I made for her. We had another awesome professional photoshoot done by Cerulean Photography who has actually taken many of my friends and I's photos before.
AND HERE WE ARE IN 2016!
For this year, I have only attended Ohayocon at the time of this post and, at this year's Ohayocon, I debuted my first J-Rock costume in 3 years, Ruki from the GazettE in his DOGMA look. I also wore Queen Nehelenia and Nezumi again.
March 11-13 is Shumatsucon where I will be debuting Princess Serenity (and a casual Napstabot from Undertale, if that counts)! I'm looking into going to Colossalcon, Ikasucon (always), and Matsuricon.
So... adding the 1 new costume for this year, brings the grand total to...
I have completed 24 cosplays- whether they be from scratch, remakes, or closet/modified.
24 cosplays in 6 years is about... 4 new costumes every year. Some I consider "1.0" or "2.0" if there were modifications done or remakes (mainly in Lily and Sailor Moon's case).
I hope to continue my steady pace of adding more characters to my lineups as well as remaking a few of my favourites (Flandre, Sakuyamon, Black Rock Shooter etc).
Thanks for reading this incredibly long (probably longer than necessary) post!
Tomorrow is Day 3 and that is Most Recent Cosplay!
